This Holtel is not worth the money!
PostedDecember 6, 2009
I will never stay at this Hotel again. The staff made me and the guests I travelled with feel as if we were bothering them. There was an issue with ants and water bugs. I asked where I could dispose of a large amount of trash and was told to leave it outside of my room and someone would pick it up. I went to a wedding and the wedding reception returned to my room and the trash was still there and had been ripped apart by cats. Yes cats there were about five cats that seemed to linger in the hotel. What made that situation worse is that my room was where the front desk staff could see it.
Everytime the housekeeper left our room after cleaning it she would turn off the air conditioning so we came back to a hot room.

First off, you will not be staying in Negril Beach Club Condos you'll be in the Mariners Beach Club Condos both are on the same property but have different buildings and employess/owners. The Mariner side is ok but could use some updating it appears to be pretty old but I had a great stay with them. The locks on the patio and door had me worried most of the time though cause they didnt work really as well as Id like but I felt completely safe and nothing ever happened the fridge and coffemaker came in handy the housekeeper was great she cleaned everything and gave you privacy when you wanted. The grounds are beautiful and the proximity to the beach was excellent! The bar right on the beach front was open late and played great music! The bartendars Keyon and Nicole were talkative and helpful! The Restuarant didnt have alot of menu choices but what was on there was excellent Orlando takes pride in his creations! Terri your server will make sure you are completely satisfied! They had alot of security on the grounds everynight at 10 and light security in the daytime. Overall I would happilly stay here again I had a great time and it was with in walking distance to everything! Good times!

We have been going to the Negril Beach Club since 1998. Always had a wonderful time, even if in recent years they added telephones and satellite TVs in room! Great annual get together with friends from all over the US/Canada and Europe. Easy walk to the village and supermarkets/stores for supplies, best beach in the world for walking/running/entertainment/dining. Can't wait to get back next year.

Andrea & Joe's stay at NBCC 03/29-04/02/2009
PostedApril 5, 2009
We booked the trip and hotel very last minute when we just needed to get out of New York for a few days. We found a GREAT deal on the Beach Club Condos ($*/night!!!) and decided to brave it. We figured, even if the room sucked we'd be on the beach, so who cares? The NBCC was WAY beyond my expectations. The room was clean, had a fridge, a decent amount of hot water (about 15 minutes worth, just long enough for a decent shower) and the condos really are right on the beach. The staff was very nice and friendly. The beach space was nice and clean, had plastic beach chairs for occupant use, several trees with nice shade (if you burn like me!), and was complete with a bar (where they make fancy and affordable drinks with real fruit!)
One of the nicest parts of our stay was getting to know some of the locals that work at the small shops on the beach next to the Condos. Dean Brown, who owned one of the few shops I saw where the items were made by a local artist (not China and then shipped there). In fact, the artist himself was there working on his carvings most days we were there. In addition, Dean was friendly, not too pushy and extremely easy and nice to talk to. Unfortunately, the economic conditions in Negril have made many of the locals very aggressive salesman, but Dean somehow finds a way to remain a gentleman. Another lovely local we met was X, who works for the scuba/snorkeling services at NBCC. We went for a morning scuba session with him where we had a great time (it was also very affordable at $*/person).
All-in-all, Jamaica can be tough, but we enjoyed ourselves immensely!

The hotel was nice but the bed was hard ,you could hear everything that was going on in the hallway and the patio. The room was invaded by ants by the middle of my stay and I saw a cockroach in my room on my last day there. The staff was good no complaint about them at all.

Half & Half

Based on the length of my stay, location, and price (very reasonable) - I can't complain too badly but I would have a hard time recommending NBC to my friends. The room was spacious and had a new a/c & satellite television. Good hot water for showers. Beds were comfortable enough but if you are looking for modern amenities that's about it. Saw ants and a waterbug at the end of my three days. Cheap, plastic furniture on the terrace that will break if you sit too hard. Lots of steps -not really friendly for the disabled or kids. Unfinished renovations - tiling, painting, etc. No Wi-fi. The spring breakers screaming at 3:30 am made me feel like my walls were made of paper and lock on the front door could have been picked by a 2 year old. I called for the entryway light to be changed in my room and no one came after an hour. When I went to the front desk no one could find the maintenance guy - so I ended up changing it myself! The front desk staff did not seem knowledgable or helpful and the lobby was dark & cramped. The best part was the beach which was my main reason for coming & it was steps from my room. The security staff on the beach was friendly & helpful- X really helped me get around and made great recommendations to get the most out of my trip. But all in all, particularly as a single female traveler I wouldn't recommend for more than a few nights. My next trip will be longer and I will be staying elsewhere.

You get what you pay for

Their ""garden view"" rooms FACE the road - you hear traffic, honking horns, and music ALL NIGHT. The sheets were not changed the entire time we were there. The walls were cracking. There was mold in the bathroom. The air conditioner rattled and made the window panes vibrate. When I asked if they could either fix the AC or move us to a new room, they didn't know if they had other rooms available and the AC was never fixed - Even after asking on 3 different occasions. The pool reeks of Chlorox bleach. The front desk staff is not helpful and barely polite. If you own a time share here - I'm sure its completely different. Even if you don't have a lot to spend - go elsewhere!
On the upside - the beach is very wide and long compared to other resorts. You can walk to the Round-about easily.

We have stayed at this resort 3 times and also have a timeshare there. It is a good value for the money. The location is great. On the beach and a short walk to anywhere, even downtown. The staff has always been very friendly and fulfilling our requests has never been a problem. If you are looking for 4 or 5 star service and amenities, this is not the place for you. If you need something that offers all the basic conveniences while staying in paradise-this is for you. We have been visiting Jamaica at least once a year for 21 years and will continue to do so.

I Love NBCC
PostedFebruary 10, 2007
This was my second visit and both times I enjoyed myself. The staff was always helpful. The rooms were clean. I've heard about the food at the hotel, but with so many wonderful dining choices in Negril food is the least of your problems. Head right across the street to Fatties. The thing that I like best is NBCC's location. It has a large portion of the beach and it's near the end of the beach. This allows for some quiet time. If you need more excitement, there are many beach bars just steps away.

Not a Good Place to Stay
PostedJuly 18, 2006
The staff at the condo was not knowledgeable about the tours and attractions in the area. They had no brochures or pamphlets in the lobby. They were also unfriendly and not very helpful. The bathroom had ants crawling all over and the towels and wash cloths need replacing. The furniture was old and the tile along the baseboard was cracked. The food at the on-premises restaurant was not very good and there was an annoying stray cat coming up to the tables begging for food. If you have extra dollars to spend, I highly recommend that you upgrade your accommodations.
