Amazing location and Hotel enviornment was safe inviting
PostedJuly 4, 2012
I have stayed at the Hotel Morales before and despite the comments made of safety in Mexico, this Hotel made me feel safe and welcomed and this time I travelled as a single female. The staff is unbelievably polite and accomodating. The hotel always has someone in the lobby area to meet your needs. I would highly recomment this location to anyone travelling to Guadalajara for the first time or a repeated visitor. I know I have found my home away from home for future visits into this part of Mexico. Kudos to them for an amazing establishment.

GUADALAJARA, WHAT A BEAUTIFUL CITY!!!
PostedAugust 29, 2011
WE ENJOYED OUR STAY AT THE HOTEL MORALES HISTORICAL AND COLONIAL DOWNTOWN. THE STAFF IS VERY FRIENDLY, HELPFUL, AND COURTEOUS. THE HOTEL IS VERY COLONIAL WITH A BEAUTIFUL WATERFALL AND DISTINCTIVE ARCHITECTURE THROUGHOUT THE CORRIDORS AND FRONT ENTRANCE. THE ROOMS ARE CLEANED DAILY AND THEY EVEN PROVIDE TWO COURTESY WATER BOTTLES IN EACH ROOM PER DAY. THE HOTEL IS LOCATED IN THE DOWNTOWN AREA OF GUADALAJARA, LOTS OF PLACES TO SEE BY FOOT OR TAXI. THE HOTEL ALSO FEATURES A PIANIST PLAYING IN THE MORNING WHILE YOU ARE HAVING BREAKFAST AND THE HOTEL MENU IS PRETTY GOOD TOO. IF THERE IS ANYTHING YOU NEED, YOU CAN CALL THE FRONT DESK AND THEY ARE READY TO HELP YOU. WE ENJOYED OUR VISIT TO GUADALAJARA AND WOULD RECOMMEND YOUR STAY AT HOTEL MORALES!!!!

Great Hotel and Service was Excellent
PostedApril 12, 2011
I had never been to Guadalaraja and the Hotel Morales was referred by some friends. I was early for check in time and the staff was very gracious-put my travel bag behing the counter and I went to the Hotel restaurant for lunch. Halfway through lunch a Bell Hop approached me to say the room was ready when I had finished lunch. The lunch was great and then I was taken to my room. I was on the courtyard and it was amazing as the center of the hotel wrapped around the courtyard. There were a set of chairs by the fireplace (near elevator) actually each floor had similar arrangement. MY room was spacious and very comfortable with High Speed access.
Would stay at the Hotel Morales my next trip and have recomended the hotel to several friends.

Lovely historic hotel in fabulous area of downtown.
PostedFebruary 12, 2011
The room was large with small sitting room, great shower and bath. We stayed a week and felt completely at home and comfortable. Other guests were friendly and the staff very competent in meeting all our needs. We enjoyed learning the history of the hotel and area. The hotel was convenient to all downtown museums and attractions, inexpensive restaurants and some local entertainment. Great hotel enjoy!

Excellent Stay
PostedFebruary 3, 2011
Overall this was a great experience~! It was very close to the center with many things to do. The staff was friendly and was even able to check us in early seeing that we arrived at the crack of dawn! They even provided a wine bottle opener when requested. The staff was also helpful in securing Taxis and transportation to the airport.
The rooms were clean and very spacious. The bathrooms were excellent and a hot shower was guaranteed! For location it was ideal. The only problem was we had some troubles finding delicious food. Over all it was a great stay and I would surely go back for another visit.

A gem
PostedFebruary 3, 2011
This hotel is a real gem in the heart of Guadalajara! When you step off the busy street into the lobby, its like stepping back 50 years . The lobby is comfortable, and the attached resturant is very good. Outstanding service, clean and comfortable rooms, and just a couple of blocks from the Historic Downtown District. Great value for the money; I will definetely go back.

Great Experience
PostedSeptember 4, 2010
I stayed 2 nights at the Morales Hotel and it was awesome. The room was spacious, had High Speed Internet and one of the most comfortable mattresses I have slept on in Mexico.
The staff, while challenged on English, was excellent.
I would stay again at the Morales-very pleasant!

PostedJuly 11, 2010
I'd definitely recommend this hotel, the rooms are very clean, very nice and the service is excellent, the location is perfect and the staff is friendly, I will make this my hotel for all my future trips to Guadalajara, hotel Morales management, please continue managing the place like you do, keep up the good work.
Though I didn't get a chance to eat at the hotel restaurant it looked very nice and clean and I assume the food must also be very good, I'll try it next time.

lovely building, goodlocation
PostedOctober 22, 2009
The Spanish colonial-style building is a gem, and lovingly restored. The location, a few blocks south of the cathedral and plaza and a short walk from the subway, could hardly be better. My only reservation is that I could hear the boom-boom-boom of music from a nearby club late at night.

I stayed at the suite with a jacuzzi because I wanted to experience the hotel at its best. As I arrived the staff greeted me promptly and courteously. I was escorted to a goregeous spacious room that was adorned with beautiful antiques such as an old-fashioned turn table with its own record sitting on top ready to be played (I dared not touch it). The bathroom had a private jacuzzi and a separate shower and a separate toilet with double sink and large mirrors. It also had a very spacious closet with a safe! I especially liked that my room had three balconies overlooking the two main streets where I could enjoy the horse carriages and the people at the plaza caddy-corner to the hotel. The bed was king size and though too firm for my taste, I selpt and over-slept like a baby. One thing I do have to complain about, though I hate doing so, is the service of the staff. I asked for coffee two days in a row because they could never seem to bring me what I wanted. For some reason they thought I drank decaff. My room was cleaned daily but the maid forgot to restock my utilities daily. I figure if I pay daily I should be re-stocked daily. They also took hours to bring me my coffe so I'd order it a day before and still I had to go to the front desk personally. The elevator was not functioning the first two days and that was a drag! Plus, on my second day they started filming a tv interview in the lobby and guests were not allowed to pass! Nevertheless, I'd stay there again...

Great Hotel
PostedJuly 14, 2009
Stayed here i July 2009 and it was perfect. I have stayed all over Guadalajara and now have finally found the one hotel I will continue to stay at. I don't like the little card in the room that says they check that all towels are accounted for ( a little cheesie) but everything else was very nice. Stayed on the second floor and at about 11:00pm if you look out the window you can see all the hookers but they are gone during the day. This hotel is right in the middle of the historic zone with all the old churches and buildings, nice restaurants and friendly people. Don't let the hooker thing keep you from staying here. I will go back often. Bring a clock---don't have one in the room.

THE BEST HOTEL IN GUADALAJARA!!!!
PostedMay 4, 2009
I STAYED IN THIS HOTEL BACK IN JANUARY 2009 FOR 6 NIGHTS, THE EXPERIENCE WAS AMAZING, IT IS RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF EVERYTHING AND THE STAFF IS VERY WELL TRAINED & PROFESSIONAL. WHEN WE ARRIVED I WAS AMAZED BY HOW BEAUTIFUL THIS HOTEL IS FROM INSIDE. IT HAS ALL BEEN REMODELED, THE BEDS ARE COMFORTABLE AND THE ROOMS ARE VERY SPACIOUS & LUXURIOUS. THE HOTEL LOOKS A LOT BETTER IN PERSON THEN IN PICTURES. THE OUTSIDE DOES NOT LOOK ANYTHING TO HOW IT IS FROM WITHIN. THERE IS ALSO A TACO PLACE RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET IN THE CORNER WHICH WAS DELICIOUS AND VERY CHEAP!! I WOULD DEFINETLY STAY HERE AGAIN WITHOUT A DOUBT. IT IS VERY INEXPENSIVE & A BEAUTIFUL HOTEL. I PERSONALLY FEEL THIS HOTEL DESERVES TO BE A 5 STAR HOTEL.

AN EXCEPTIONALLY GOOD EXPERIENCE
PostedMarch 3, 2009
This is a historic and beautiful hotel, in a historic and beautiful city. It has a dashing history of housing visiting famous bullfighters, in the past. The colonial architecture is stunning. My friend and I have travelled all over Europe, Asia, North America and several areas of Mexico. We both agree that our room was one of the most gorgeous and clean (especially for the very reasonable price) we have ever experienced.
We found the staff very friendly and helpful, from the front desk to the cleaning staff, including the restaurant personnel, bellboy and room service. Many spoke english and all were eager to help us, at all times. They often went out of their way to be of assistance. It was just a wonderful stay.
This hotel is located in the midst of the old, scenic section of Guadalaja and is near many significant tourist sites. It is easy to catch the open-top tourist bus near the hotel, which loops through the area and allows riders to get on and off to access desired sites along the way, for a small fare.
Though I am older and somewhat disabled, It felt very safe inside the hotel and throughout the neighborhood. Though the neighborhood bustled, our room was a quiet sanctuary at all times.
We were extremely pleased with our experience, want to return soon and would recommend it to anyone, young or old.
